About The Boathouse
The Boathouse was launched in October 2014 as an exciting multi-purpose riverside venue with an emphasis on supporting artists in their development and fostering community involvement and leadership in a wide range of art forms. We offer affordable exhibition and performance studios and a great environment for workshops and training.
We are situated on Barking Creek, right next to the River Roding at the heart of the vibrant Icehouse Creative Quarter and a mere 30 minutes from Central London. Over the past few years we have seen a steady increase in the arrival of creative businesses and artists taking up the opportunity to base themselves in the many studios in this vibrant quarter. Over the past five years there has been significant regeneration in the area with many new homes and residents. We are excited at the prospect of further growth in the numbers of people living and working here over the next few years.
Since we set up the Boathouse we have welcomed many pop-up opportunities, performances, jazz and comedy, regular yoga, fitness and a range of arts workshops and classes.
We offer competitive and affordable hourly and daily hire rates for our studios (see venue hire page for details) which lend themselves perfectly for business, community and private events. Our studios are large, bright and airy and offer great flexibility to create bespoke events, training, conferences and celebrations with the support of our expert team.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Boathouse for your event in 2019!
