About The Boathouse
The Boathouse was launched in October 2014 as an exciting new multi-purpose venue with an emphasis on supporting artists in their development, fostering community involvement and leadership in a wide range of art forms. The venue offers affordable exhibition and performance studios which area environments for workshops and training.
Overlooking the River Roding, at the heart of the vibrant Icehouse Creative Quarter, The Boathouse is just 30 minutes from Central London. Over the past few years, the number of creative businesses and artists basing themselves here has increased steadily. There has also been significant regeneration in the area, which now boasts many new homes and residents. The future remains bright, offering the prospect of further growth in the numbers of people living and working here.
Since its launch, The Boathouse has welcomed many pop-up opportunities, performances, exhibitions, jazz and comedy events, plus regular yoga and fitness classes, and a range of arts workshops open to budding and established artists.
Studio hire rates remain affordably low, which makes them accessible for business, community and private events. Both studios are large, bright and airy, and offer great flexibility to create bespoke events, training, conferences and celebrations with the support of our expert team.
Whether you are new to The Boathouse or have been here before, we look forward to welcoming you here in 2019!
