VENUE ACCESS INFORMATION AND ACCESS STATEMENT

The Boathouse Creative Studios is an indoor events venue in Barking.We offer a warm welcome to everyone and aim to offer an excellent level of service to all our customers. We really want you to enjoy your time with us so if anything happens while you are at The Boathouse Creative Studios please speak to one of our staff and ask to speak to the Duty Manager who will deal with your queries as best they can.

The venue hosts a wide variety of events throughout the year. Full details of all forthcoming events are available on the Events page of this website. THE VENUE is situated on the first floor of The Malthouse building with a maximum capacity of 130.

CAR PARKING  There are three accessible (free) parking bays directly in front of the building. You will need a barrier code to access the car park so please contact us at admin@boathousecic.co.uk for this.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND DROP OFF TAXI If travelling by Taxi please ask your driver to drop you in the car park You may give the driver the car park code for entry through the barrier. The Boathouse  Creative Studios is set off the road by the river. A key landmark is the Nisa store which is on Abbey Road.

.PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Nearest Railway Station – Barking  (approx. 10 minute walk)

ENTRANCE  The accessible entrance to the first floor of the venue is via a ground floor accessible lift which provides access for wheelchair-users, please buzz on the Key Pad at the ground floor door to access entry to the lift. If you require assistance with this please contact us.

If you have any special access requirements please let us know in advance.

GETTING AROUND Once inside the building there is level access through-out that level.  You can  come and visit the venue when there is nothing on if you think it would be helpful to familiarise yourself with the building before you attend an event.

PUBLIC TELEPHONE There is no public telephone on site. There is a phone in the Boathouse Creative Studios office that can be used in an emergency or to book taxis for disabled visitors; please just ask a member of staff.

VENUE PLANS Standard and large print plans of the Venue are available on request. ASSISTANCE DOGS We welcome assistance dogs and a bowl of water can be provided if requested.

ACCESSIBLE TOILETS/BABY CHANGING AREAS The accessible toilet is on the first floor- are free to use and to do not need a National R.A.D.A.R.

FIRE ALARMS The fire alarms give an audible warning only. There is no visual display. A member of staff will assist in the event of a fire alarm. If you are unlikely to be able to hear the alarms or will need assistance to exit the building if the fire alarm sounds, please tell a member of staff on your arrival. S

STAFF TRAINING All staff have a programme of core training, which includes customer care, diversity and disability awareness. They are here to help customers enjoy the time they spend at the Boathouse Creative Studios. If there is anything that we can do to make your visit more enjoyable, please contact us, we will be happy to assist you.
